TableXL / Practical guide
Extract tables from a PDF report without losing their source pages
Review multiple report tables and preserve their page references when exporting to Excel or CSV.
Prepare the report
Use the original text PDF if available. Password-protected files, handwriting, nested tables and irregular layouts may not work. Maximum size is 15 MiB and 100 pages; split larger reports before uploading.
Review each detected table
TableXL first looks for ruled tables, then tries text alignment and column gaps. Titles or footnotes can be mistaken for table cells. Edit those cells and headers before export. Missing tables cannot be recovered by a column edit: try a cleaner source.
Check totals separately
For a synthetic report with units 2 and 3 at a price of 10.00, verify total revenue is 50.00 against the PDF. TableXL preserves cell text rather than guessing numeric or date types. Convert verified numbers in your spreadsheet after download.
Keep a local record
Download the workbook and original source to your own bookkeeping folder. Each table has its own worksheet. Content is automatically removed after 24 hours, and deleting a conversion removes its source and corrected results immediately.
