Fix merged rows in Excel after PDF extraction
Repair wrapped addresses and multi-line PDF rows with careful cell editing before an Excel export.
Distinguish wrapped text from separate records
Compare the source PDF: an address spread across two visual lines may be one logical record. Do not merge different customers or invoices just because their rows touch. TableXL does not automatically join data rows.
Repair the affected cells
Copy a continuation address into the correct record using the editable preview. Clear the misplaced continuation cells. Column merge joins adjacent columns, not rows; use cell edits for wrapped records. Blank rows can be removed in Excel after export.
Preserve identifiers
A synthetic identifier 00412 should remain text. TableXL exports extracted text without converting it to a number. In Excel’s CSV import dialog, set identifiers and ambiguous dates to Text so leading zeros and printed date order survive.
Compare another conversion method
A desktop spreadsheet or a local open-source tool may be sufficient for simple PDFs. TableXL offers a hosted preview with column correction and one-time page packs. No claim is made that it beats Adobe, Nanonets, Tabula or every bank-specific converter on your file; test your free pages first.
